What does Marand do?
Marand engineer, manufacture and sustain precision solutions predominantly to Defence and Aerospace (as well as other industries such as mining, rail and energy). Located in Victoria, the key facilities are located in Melbourne and Geelong. Marand is the largest Australian supplier on the F-35 Lightning II Joint Strike Fighter programme. Marand produces F-35 Tooling, Vertical Tails and Fairings. Marand also designed and is the global source for the F-35 engine removal and installation trailers.
The company operations would be of interest to those cadets who might aspire to working in leading edge aircraft component manufacture, advanced manufacturing or to learn how the F-35 parts are manufactured around the globe with final manufacture of the aircraft occurring in the US. The company employs mechanical and electrical apprentices and graduates and has several more junior employees who could provide personal insights into what it is like to work in aircraft manufacture and how to make navigate this career pathway.

Marand is open to considering requests for a visit providing timing can be mutually agreed. The activity is open to negotiation, but will generally include some or all of the following depending on location and facilities available:

- Overview of career opportunities at Marand including entry requirements.

Marand has operations in Melbourne and Geelong. From these facilities it supplies sophisticated engineering solutions to the defence, aerospace, rail, mining and energy sectors. It designs and manufactures complex innovative solutions for its customer base including Lockheed Martin, Boeing, BAE Systems, BHP and Rio Tinto.
