Ms Sandra James

Sandra James is the senior manager of University Relations and STEM for Boeing in Australia. In this role, she is responsible for managing Boeing’s relationships with the company’s Australian university partners and developing STEM strategies to encourage more young people to enter STEM in order to grow Australia’s talent pipeline.
Prior to this role, James was a senior HR manager for Boeing Defence Australia. She was responsible for workforce management and analytics, remuneration and benefits, human resource information systems, global mobility and HR projects to meet the needs of the company’s projects and growth strategies.
Before this appointment, she was senior manager HR Services for BDA’s Human Resources Group. In this role, James was responsible for national organizational development, learning and development, facilities and security and workforce strategies, including the Aerospace Project with the Queensland Education Department.
James commenced her career with Boeing Defence Australia in 2004 as the Human Resources manager for the Networked Enabled Systems division.
Before joining Boeing, James was general manager of Business Services for the Queensland Government’s IT company, where she was responsible for human resources, project management, and quality and software services. Before holding that position, she was general manager of Human Resources.
Prior to this, James ran her own consultancy business, SJB and Associates. She specialised in employee advocacy and organisational change management.
She has also held a range of senior human resources positions within Queensland Rail, which culminated in her appointment as Sales and Marketing manager for the Citytrain Network.
She commenced her working life as a school teacher after obtaining a Bachelor of Educational Studies and a Diploma of Teaching. She also holds a Masters Degree in Human Resource Management.
