Mr Ken Window
Ken Window joined No 6 Flight Gympie in 1955 and rose to the rank of Cadet Pilot Officer.
In 1960, he enlisted in the RAAF Reserve as a commissioned officer, attaining the rank of Flight Lieutenant, and served as Training Officer with No 8 Flight Amberley. He resigned in 1976 when transferred to the Gold Coast as area manager of the company in which he was then working for.
Ken's aviation interest won him a Commonwealth Flying Scholarship in 1969 which provided funds to increase his private pilot licence to a commercial licence. He curently holds Private Pilot and Gliding Pilot licences and regularly acts as tug pilot for the Boonah Gliding Club. He's the Club's tugmaster.
His business background is in banking and finance and before retirement was the principal partner of the accounting firm he formed in 1981. He has a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Queensland and prior to retirement was a Fellow of the Australia Society of CPAs, the Institute of Chartered Accountants, the Taxation Institute of Australia and a Registered Public Company Auditor. His main area of operation was as a forensic accountant.
He has been married to Beverley since 1964 and they have two children and three grandchildren.
