More Information
Formation of No. 320 Squadron Windsor, Australian Air Force Cadets
In 2021, 3WG AAFC Headquarters identified the need to develop a second AAFC unit at RAAF Richmond. Within two years, No. 336SQN, which currently parades at RAAF Richmond, had reached full capacity. (June 2023)
Formal discussions were consequently held by command elements from RAAF Cadet Branch, RAAF Richmond, AAFC National and 3WG HQ. Approval was quickly granted by Air Commodore Craig Heap AM, CSC, Director General Cadets - Air Force (DGCADETS-AF) to establish a second cadet unit on base to satisfy the local demand from the Hawkesbury area.
No. 320SQN Windsor staff and cadets commenced parading on 8 FEB 2024 at RAAF Richmond with an initial squadron intake of 20 staff, 43 Recruits and 3 Cadet Non Commissioned Officers or CNCO's.
Our unit is staffed by adults who have a passion for youth development within a military and aviation context. Staff hail from military, aviation industry, trade, professional and university backgrounds. Many are ex cadets - a testament to the AAFC. Cadets are drawn from throughout the Hawkesbury region including Sackville in the North, Bilpin in the West, Marsden Park/ Londonderry in the South and Kellyville in the East.
For more information about the Australian Aair Force Cadets and the activities we run, please view our national website.
We currently recruit up to 50 cadets each year and due to the popularity of AAFC are currently oversubscribed for our February 2025 intake. We invite young people to check in with us again in June 2025 as we consider taking on a second intake in July 2025.
