What does HCAP do?

The Company was established as a Guild in 1929 in order to ensure that pilots and navigators of the (then) fledgling aviation industry were accepted and regarded as professionals. The Company sponsors action and activities designed to ensure that aircraft are piloted and navigated safely by individuals who are highly competent, self-reliant, dependable and respected. The Company fosters the sound education and training of air pilots from the initial training of the young pilot to the specialist training of the more mature. Its members participate in charitable activities, education and training, technical committee work, aircrew aptitude testing, scholarships and sponsorship, advice and recognition of the achievements of fellow aviators world-wide.

What does HCAP offer?

HCAP has members in most states and has offered to provide guest speakers for Cadet units.  HCAP is open to considering any request for a visit providing timing can be mutually agreed.  The activity is open to negotiation, but will generally include some or all of the following:

  • A presentation on an aviation topic generally involving the personal history and experiences of the speaker.
  • Personal observations about the avenues open to access aviation careers and personal experience on navigating those pathways. 
  • An overview of the activities of HCAP and what the organisation can do to assist people considering a career in aviation.  

  • HCAP could provide the greatest range of activities for units near capital cities as most of their members are in the major capital cities or in close proximity. HCAP speaker(s) could potentially attend a Cadet Unit in any of the capital cities.

  • To promote excellence in aviation, the HCAP present trophies and other awards to recognise outstanding performance or achievement by individuals or organisations.

  • In addition to the general awards there are a number of awards that are specific to the Australian Region

The Australian Air Force Cadets acknowledges this country and its traditional custodians.

We acknowledge and respect the spiritual relationship between the traditional custodians and this country which is inspired by language of songs, dance law and dream time stories over many thousands of years and we pay our respect to the elders who have passed into the dreaming, those here today, and those of tomorrow. May we continue to peacefully walk together in gratitude, respect and kindness in caring for this country and each other.
