Cadet Skills
Cadets Skills is a foundational aspect to the Cadet Training this encompasses practical and theoretical leadership whether it's in the field, in the class room, or on the parade ground. Cadets is all about developing Cadets we develop you as a Cadet to be able to teach and lead your fellow Cadets. The Cadets as an organisation is about we can develop you to best prepare you for your future whatever that may be. It could be as apart of Defence, Defence Industry, Aerospace or any job this skills will help you no matter what.
What are Cadet Skills?
The goal of the Cadet Skills Personal Development element is to develop Social and Emotional Learning (SEL). SEL is the process through which all young people and adults acquire and apply the knowledge, skills, and attitudes to develop healthy and confident identities, manage emotions and achieve personal and collective goals, feel and show empathy for others, establish and maintain supportive relationships, and make responsible and caring decisions.
The goal of the Cadet Skills Leadership element is to develop in cadets the ability to think independently and lead others in an atmosphere of teamwork and mutual respect. This element also develops in cadets an ability to think critically about moral and ethical issues and to develop a commitment to live AAFC’s Core Values.
The goal of the Cadet Skills Service Knowledge element is to develop the military skills and knowledge required to function as an effective AAFC Cadet in an Air Force context and to install an understanding of Air Force customs, traditions, and history.
