About 310 (City of Tamworth) Squadron
310 Squadron Australian Air Force Cadets (AAFC) was formed as No.10 Flight Australian Air Training Corps in 1970. Since then the unit has been providing young people in the Tamworth region with unparalleled leadership and aviation training opportunities. Our Cadets have access these opportunities at both local (Squadron) and State (Wing) level, with activities and camps occurring during weekends and each school holiday period.
Locally, 310 Squadron Cadets participate in gliding and powered aviation experience flights, fieldcraft and survival camps, community and social events, and firearms safety training. Our focus is on providing a high quality Cadet experience within the Australian Air Force Cadets youth development framework, with our activities fostering teamwork, leadership, confidence and initiative.
At our Wing-based camps and courses Cadets participate in a range of activities no other youth development organisation within Australia is able to offer. These camps and courses include glider and powered aircraft pilot training courses, camps on RAAF and ADF bases, fieldcraft and adventure training camps, band course, aeromodelling/rocketry/drone camps, leadership development courses, and international exchanges. Wing camps and courses are held every school holiday period, and our Cadets can truly choose their own adventure.
310 Squadron and the AAFC provide opportunities which you won’t find anywhere else. You will experience a small taste of what the Air Force is like, and will make friends for life. Take the challenge, and join our team.

The Recruit Intake Weekend will introduce you to a variety of AAFC training courses including fieldcraft, service knowledge, aerospace skills, and drill and ceremonial.
There is no cost to attend the Recruit Intake Weekend and if you decide the AAFC is not for you then you are under no obligation to continue your enrolment. If you decide you do wish to join, then you will immediately commence attending Tuesday evening parades to continue your training.
Recruit Kitting Day
