More Information
426 SQN commenced in 1955 as 26 FLT VICAirtc. It was formed by founding members of the Latrobe Valley AeroClub, many of whom were returned members of the RAAF.
The unit paraded at various locations until moving to the Latrobe Regional Airport in 1960 and we still currently parade there in a dedicated facility today.
Over time we have had many ex Cadets join the ADF with some achieving higher ranks.
26 FLT became 426 Squadron, Australian Air Force Cadets in 2000.
The Squadron has been the recipient of the 4WG Squadron of the year twice and was the winner of the 4WG Drill Competition (Crickmore Cup) on one occasion.
We participate in local, regional and state activities as well as national and international activities on occassions.
The 26FLT/426 SQN has exercised the Right of Entry to the City of Traralgon/Latrobe on 21 May 1985 and on 16 October 1999.
We have an active Community partnership with the Latrobe Valley AeroClub, the Traralgon Subbranch of the RSL, Legacy and the local Traralgon Lions Club.
