403 Squadron was established on 02 February, 2014 at the St Francis Xavier College Beaconsfield campus, and held its first parade night on 05 May that year. With a first year establishment of 35 cadets, it has significantly grown over the years to over 120 cadets to be one of the largest squadrons in 4 Wing, supporting youth from Cardinia, Casey and surrounding shires on their leadership journeys.
Over the years, 403 Squadron has proudly produced several accomplished cadets and staff acheivements including
* 2019 4 Wing Victorian Cadet of the Year
* 2023 WOFF(AAFC) R. Bolton OAM Instructor of the Year
* 2024 WOFF(AAFC) R. Bolton OAM Instructor of the Year
* 4 Wing Most Proficient Cadet in Aerial Activities 2024
* 9 x Elementary Flying School solo pilots
* Cardinia Council Young Citizen of the Year 2023,
* and several cadets who have gone on to establishing careers in the Australian Army and Royal Australian Air Force.
Its first ever Squadron Banner was procured in December 2023 and was officially blessed in September 2024, as 403 Squadron proudly celebrates its 10th Anniversary year.
