No 402 Squadron is located at the Simpsons Army Barracks in Yallambie, and has been proudly supporting youth development and aviation knowledge for 80 years. The unit was known as No 2 City Of Preston for 60 years and moved to Banyule in 1994. 402SQN has a tradition of comradeship, team work and cadet-led leadership, and currently parades 100 cadets. There is always a long waiting list for new members to the Squadron and limited vacancies. Due to restricted access to the Army Barracks, there are limited gate opening times for cadet entry to parade nights and all visitors over 16 must present photo identification.
