More Information
Welcome to 333Squadron (Port Macquarie)!
333 Squadron is the premier Australian Defence Force Cadets unit in the Greater Hastings region and is a sub-unit of 3 Wing (NSW & ACT), the largest Australian Air Force Cadets Wing in Australia.
333 Squadron conducts one recruit intake per year at the start of each calendar year. Expressions of Interest open in September/October in the year prior to commencement. We accept young men and women from 12 years old (if turning 13 in the calendar year of joining) to 16 years old (cannot accept if over 16) and instruct them in aerospace, aviation, service knowledge, team building, drill, personal development, fieldcraft, survival, rifle shooting, and several other subjects.
Our focus is on providing a high quality Cadet experience within the Australian Air Force Cadets youth development framework, with our activities fostering teamwork, leadership, confidence and initiative.
Since its formation in 1992, 333 Squadron has been providing young people in the Greater Hastings region with unparalleled leadership and aviation/aerospace based training opportunities. Our Cadets are able to access these opportunities at both local (Squadron) and State (Wing) level, with activities and camps occurring during weekends and each school holiday period.
Locally, 333 Squadron Cadets are able to participate in gliding and powered aviation experience flights, leadership training, fieldcraft and survival camps, community and social events, and firearms safety training/.22 marksmanship training.
Our Wing-based camps and courses are where our Cadets get to apply the skills and knowledge gained at Squadron-level, and participate in a range of activities no other youth devlopment organisation within Australia is able to offer. These camps and courses include glider and powered aircraft pilot training courses, General Service Training camps on RAAF bases, fieldcraft and adventure training camps, musicians / vocal courses, aeromodelling/rocketry/drone camps, promotion courses, and international exchanges. Wing camps and courses are held every school holiday period, and our Cadets can truly choose their own adventure.
333 Squadron and the AAFC provides experiences and opportunities which you won’t find anywhere else. You will experience a small taste of what the Air Force is like, and will make friends for life. Take the challenge, and join our team.
