For many years, the unit was 20 Flight Air Training Corps based at Stafford. With the establishment of Aviation High School (previously Hendra State High School), the unit transferred to its current location at Aviation High, becoming 220SQN Australian Air Force Cadets. Currently, the Squadron has the most experienced staff in 2 Wing (South East QLD) and continues the tradition of 'Responsibility in Flight' being close to the Brisbane Airport and positioned at a school whose focus is on aviation skills training.
